ARISE and Community-Based Organizations in Washington DC

Positive Nature, Inc. uses ARISE curricula & training, provides in their counseling and after school programs for at-risk youth in DC

ARISE understands the important role of community-based organizations in the areas they serve. In disadvantaged and impoverished communities around the world, it is often community-based and faith-based organizations that provide social services to the needy, work with police and local officials to reduce crime, and offer at-risk youth a safe place to play and study. In no uncertain terms, ARISE’s work with community-based groups in Washington DC demonstrates how ARISE life skills lessons and staff training can strengthen any organization’s efforts to build up and improve their neighborhoods.

For the past three years, ARISE has worked with over 100 community-based organizations, the Metropolitan Police Department, and faith-based organizations in Washington DC to provide them the life skills materials and staff training they need to empower at-risk youth. ARISE recognizes that these community-based groups work at the frontlines of the battle against crime, drugs, gangs, and other negative factors that threaten communities and public safety, and we have selected the best materials we have to equip these groups in DC with what they need to continue their best efforts.
