The Salvation Army has been serving America’s youth for 125 years. Through a variety of Salvation Army programs, corps members and staff instill friendships, laughter, and confidence to today’s youth. Their motto is, “Doing the Most Good” and the Salvation Army does just that through their familial services intended to help the parents break the cycle of homelessness and crime so that their children will have a brighter future.
ARISE has worked with many Salvation Army’s programs around the country to provide structured life-skills lessons and staff training for corps groups working with at-risk youth. This successful combination has enabled Salvation Army corps to create interactive and comprehensive programs to help at-risk and low-income young adults succeed in life. |
Since 1986, ARISE has developed a huge collection of award-winning material guaranteed to prepare disadvantaged youth to make responsible decisions, manage anger and develop the social and emotional skills society demands. Relevant life skill topics include time management, money matters, teen anger management, basic health, and parenting. These materials have proven especially helpful for the corps programs that dedicate themselves to working in residential youth homes, homeless shelters, after school programs, summer camps, parenting programs and much more. |

Equally important, ARISE also offers staff training opportunities for Salvation Army staff. Salvation Army corps members have attended the ARISE Life Skills Instructor Certification Training and the Master Life Skills Training. The seven-hour Life Skills Instructor Training enables even those who have never taught a day in their lives to stand and deliver ARISE life-skills lessons with confidence and compassion. The ARISE Master Life Skills Training is a five-day intensive training perfect for anyone interested in training their staff and colleagues to become ARISE Life Skills Instructors.
