Herald Staff, The Miami Herald, 10/14/2001

Hialeah Middle, 6027 E. Seventh Ave., will launch its 21st Century Learning Center program Monday. The new program is part of a $1.5 million countywide initiative funded by a federal grant in partnership with the Inner City Games Foundation, Arise Foundation and Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

It will provide about 100 students access to computers, homework assistance and recreational activities after school in classrooms.

The program will run from 3:40 to 5:40 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and will include a free snack for the students.

Also, the program will set aside the media center and the use of its computers for the parents four days a week, from 3:40 p.m. to 5:40 p.m., Tuesdays to Fridays.

For more information, call center coordinators Virginia Garcia or Eduardo Molliner at 305-681-3527.
