Hialeah Middle, 6027 E. Seventh Ave., will launch its 21st Century Learning Center program Monday. The new program is part of a $1.5 million countywide initiative funded by a federal grant in partnership with the Inner City Games Foundation, Arise Foundation and Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
It will provide about 100 students access to computers, homework assistance and recreational activities after school in classrooms.
The program will run from 3:40 to 5:40 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and will include a free snack for the students.
Also, the program will set aside the media center and the use of its computers for the parents four days a week, from 3:40 p.m. to 5:40 p.m., Tuesdays to Fridays.
