MEDIA RELEASE: ARISE Donates Life Skills Curricula to Palm Beach Regional Juvenile Detention Center |

Jupiter, FL – Today, Friday, July 20th, ARISE Foundation donated 350 of their evidence-based, life-skills curriculum to Palm Beach Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The material will go to the juvenile offenders that are held at this facility. According to ARISE Co-Founders Edmund and Susan Benson, “Life skills are not hereditary. They must be learned, and these materials are crucial to changing the lives of these troubled youth.”
The Palm Beach Regional Juvenile Detention Center is a 93-bed, secure facility that serves youth detained by various circuit court(s). Youth are detained pending adjudication, disposition or placement in commitment facility. |

The books donated included Anger Management, a clear and obvious necessity for the youth at this juvenile detention center. Focus on the Environment, another one of the books donated, encompasses topics from recycling to drugs, alcohol and tobacco. ARISE also sent Success Weeks, which provide lessons on how to be successful in life. The lessons in the books are fun, interactive and memorable. All of the materials donated offers lessons that youth can relate to and comprehend without difficulty.

Since 1996, ARISE curricula and staff training has been used statewide in the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice facilities. The program has been extremely successful and has been evaluated by the University of Miami and other independent evaluators on a yearly basis.
