WASHINGTON DC - On June 14th, six social workers from Bosnia came to the United States for an extraordinary purpose. As part of an international educational program sponsored by World Learning Delphi International Program in Washington, DC, Bosnian social workers participated in the ARISE Foundation’s 1-Day Life Skills Instructor Training and Certification. The Delphi International Program of World Learning is dedicated to facilitating exchanges among professionals from the United States and around the world. This training thoroughly introduced the participants to the benefits of ARISE life skills curricula on at-risk youth. Judy Lyons, ARISE trainer, taught the easy-to-teach ARISE formula that promotes high levels of interaction in group settings. The Bosnian participants found the training exceptionally useful for their work with at-risk and troubled youth in their home country. The ARISE Life-Skills Instructor Training has imparted upon the Bosnian participants with the practical knowledge, expertise, confidence and positive attitude necessary to educate the troubled youth they work with.
